In 2025, ProFirst secured more than one million dollars in government contracts and trained over 500 background investigators nationwide, while continuing to deliver expert consulting and CVSA services to public safety agencies. John Pallas

John Pallas is a nationally recognized expert in pre-employment background investigations, with more than 27 years of law enforcement experience in California and senior command-level service for the State of Tennessee. As a former Director of Law Enforcement Training and Deputy Chief, John has overseen large-scale hiring initiatives, and as the CEO of ProFirst Training and Consulting he has developed state-approved curriculum in multiple states, and personally conducted and supervised thousands of public safety background investigations with a staff of 38 investigators.
John is an experienced instructor who has trained investigators from local, state, and federal agencies nationwide. His courses are known for being highly practical, engaging, and grounded in real-world investigative experience. Agencies trust John to deliver training that strengthens their hiring decisions, enhances compliance, and elevates the professionalism of their background units.
